Rain Today, Grrrr...

As many of you know, I live in the PNW.It rains here.Thats just a fact of life.So why is it, that when it rains, traffic goes down the toilet?I was watching the traffic reports this morning, and the freeways are all screwed up. 24 miles per hour on the freeways.I dont understand what the problem is.It's not like this is a rare occurence.C'mon people, lets get your stuff together! Its just water.:agrr:

Well the fact that you n ormally get moisture 300 days a year.... there isnt much of a chance for the roadway to get oily and slick, soooo maybe the sight of the mist off the road fasinates them... just a thought... You could always move to Arizona...

I gotta say, I HATE winter, and yet it is no where as bad as other places so I have to say if you dislike your weather I hear you.
I prefer our summer anyday!

DUH!!

Wet roads are more slippery than dry. Ever hear of hydroplaning? Like someone already said, mist (or fog) makes for poorer visibility. There are many reasons.

Don't give your head a shake--you will likely further damage an already feeble mind.o.O

Freeways are notorious for accidents. Not just in the rain. I don't know what your problem is. After, all you're only listening to the traffic reports. You're not in a traffic jam. Time to look at the sunny side of things. :D

Does Au have snow at all, yep in the Victorian highlands and Tasmania also have snowfields, a place I stay away from since I hate cold!
Only saw it once in my life and that was not much then but I still feel cold at the thought of it, would'nt last in snow country, I admit I am a wuss with the cold! :/

Sorry to hear you down #3, I know there's a song (probably a bunch) that would cheer you up, but I know what you mean about the traffic back-ups. All it takes is for one guy to tap his brakes. I think people really do overreact, maybe just a fraction of a second, but when you add them all together, ten cars back people will be coming to a complete stop, when the guy and the squirrel that caused it all are long gone.
I love the rain and snow, storms, all that stuff, even when I'm traveling. Don't let my clunkers deceive you :) We've got great tires on everything. I'm one of those guys that pass everybody in a blizzard...usually cranking something like Highway Star......ohhhh, I'm in Heaven again...I've got everything.... :)
